Starting in public practice, David moved from Audit to Business Recovery services before a career change into construction. Working his way up from special projects to project management and finally to general management, David has experienced many aspects of the business and is now responsible for developing and achieving Ryfan's mission. David has served on a number of boards, often as Chairperson, where he shares his strategic and financial expertise.
Since entering the electrical field in 1990 Darren has continuously worked his way up to more and more demanding roles within the commercial, residential, and industrial electrical sector. Besides being a Ryfan Electric Alberta Office Principal, General Manager, Project Manager, Estimator and highly skilled Tradesman, Darren holds primary leadership for 150 talented employees.
Emad has 15 years leadership experience in the oil, gas, pipeline, and petrochemical sectors in Canada, United States, Europe, and Asia. Emad has used his PhD in strategic management, production and operations, his MBA, and his Prosci Change Management skills to variously lead programs for a global ERP roll-out, to drive a 400% project sales increase from a $30M base (concurrently building the project delivery team), and to help a government department roll-out a large security sensitive strategic initiative. Emad is responsible for helping Ryfan Transform MEP Construction.
Deepa, a recipient of Edmonton's Top 100 Women in Business award (2013), is a graduate of the University of Alberta School of Business. She is a seasoned professional accountant and was exposed to numerous businesses as an auditor and financial statement preparer. Building on that knowledge she became a professional business valuator gaining experience and insight in both business valuations and mergers and acquisitions. For a number of years Deepa worked as an independent contractor using her skills to help small businesses grow. Concurrently, she maintained an executive position with the Business Alumni Association board. Deepa brings a depth of insight and strategic experience to her executive role with Ryfan. She also supports and strengthens our back-office functions, which is vital in ensuring we remain an effective partner on the projects we undertake.
Kirsten is a seasoned business executive who happens also to be a practicing lawyer. Kirsten has acquired significant leadership, human resources, strategic planning and governance experience and expertise throughout her career in education and law and, particularly, from her many years working on the executive team at Edmonton Northlands as it navigated through significant business restructuring. Kirsten is active on boards and with community organizations outside of work where she fulfills directorship and governance responsibilities, speaks and presents, manages, advises, mentors, and sometimes just plain volunteers.
A journeyman plumber/gasfiter since 1989, Joey has mechanical contracting in his blood. He learned all aspects of the trade and business - field operations, supervision, estimating, project management and general management - at his family owned JSL Mechanical. With all that he has learned through his experience and knowledge passed down from his father, Joe Jr. has become particularly known for his strong abilities in the area of leading and participating in Design-Build projects
Jeff has 25 plus years of diversified experience in Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare & Design-build projects with the majority of those years in a supervisory or management capacity. A journeyman electrician, Jeff is Gold Seal certified in both Estimating and Project Management along with project management training from the University of Waterloo. Jeff has extensive experience combining electrical, mechanical and plumbing disciplines.
Sunil has been working in the institutional mechanical space since 1991. He has a decade of experience operating, maintaining, and installing water treatment plants in the middle east. From that base of practical expertise Sunil has developed his project management and estimating skills applying them to projects from hospitality to hospitals with industrial construction in between.
Megan has been in the electrical trade since 2001 and has taken on increasingly responsible roles in a variety of sectors including commercial, residential and industrial projects. Megan is a tradesmen, supervisor, and project manager who now manages a group of 10 - 25 qualified and motivated employees. Worker safety, quality and customer satisfaction motivate all of Megan’s decisions as evidenced by the many successful projects she has concluded.
Having nearly 20 years of experience in the electrical industry and boasting over $100M dollars of successfully managed electrical projects, Jay’s experience building and/or designing is “top notch”. With a deep understanding of time, cost, quality and how to champion these variables to succeed Jay is a valuable asset to the projects to which he is assigned. Taking the “PMI” approach to Project Management he learned at Mount Royal University, Jay makes sure all the process groups are diligently reviewed and accounted for, paying particular attention to owners & customers. Jay understands the success of a project is directly linked to the success of all stakeholders involved.
Jesse has been in the electrical industry since 2004 and has advanced rapidly demonstrating technical prowess, leadership, interpersonal and coordination skills, as well as an ability to see the “whole” project. Jesse’s considerable experience in commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional projects gives him a well-versed understanding on how to manage an extensive range of projects. Jesse brings a strong client satisfaction commitment, along with quality and safety ethic, to every project he tackles.
Jalil has over 6 years of experience in the electrical and electronic industry with extensive oil & gas, railway, mining, schools & universities, street lighting and hospital project portfolios as well as experience in managing large, complex and multi discipline projects from business development phase through handover to the client and post delivery services. Jalil's approach is to foster an environment of teamwork, a focus on growth, while overseeing performance and maintaining morale. Jalil's strong communication and client service skills enhance Ryfan’s process-driven management philosophy.
