Overview
In the position of Third Year Electrical Apprentice, the employee will expected to demonstrate a high level of interest in the quality of the installations they are involved with, strict punctuality in regards to scheduled shifts and break times, as well as the ability to work safely and understand/ carry out the instructions of their immediate supervisor. A reasonable expectation would be the ability to demonstrate a level of independence with the tasks previously associated with the second level.
A probation period is in effect for the first three months of employment. In addition to the above, the overall attitude towards assigned duties, team members and the trade in general, will play a significant factor in the continued success within our organization. Roles & Responsibilities below are a minimum and in no way limited to the list provided.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Reviewing and understanding company safe work practices and policies.
- Refusal of any unsafe work.
- The safe execution of duties as instructed by your supervisor.
- General housekeeping (unsupervised).
- Material gathering and supply for yourself and journeyman (unsupervised).
- Conduit/ Cable Installation (unsupervised).
- High level of care and control of finished product/ installation.
- Wiring pulling and splicing (low level of supervision).
- High level of electrical circuit knowledge.
- Interpretation and execution of the second level training Sections of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Blue print interpretation (low level of supervision).
- Lighting installations (unsupervised).
- Organize materials and layout/ execution of daily tasks for yourself and co-worker, as instructed by your supervisor.
- Distribution equipment installations (supervised).
- Motor terminations (supervised).
- Basic motor control wiring (supervised).
- Implementation of Quality Control documentation.
