Overview
In the position of Journeyperson Electrician, the employee will be expected to demonstrate a high level of interest in the quality of the installations they are involved with, strict punctuality in regards to scheduled shifts and break times, as well as the ability to work safely and understand/ carry out the instructions of their immediate supervisor. A reasonable expectation would be the ability to demonstrate a level of independence with the tasks previously associated with the fourth level, as well as the ability to organize their own work and supervise 1-2 others.
A probation period is in effect for the first three months of employment. In addition to the above, the overall attitude towards assigned duties, team members and the trade in general, will play a significant factor in the continued success within our organization. Roles & Responsibilities
- Reviewing and understanding company safe work practices and policies.
- Refusal of any unsafe work.
- The safe execution of duties as instructed by your supervisor.
- General housekeeping.
- Conduit/ Cable Installation.
- Care and control of finished product/ installations directly under your care.
- Interpretation and execution of the fourth level training Sections of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Layout of rough in and finish of installations from blue prints & work scopes provided (low level of supervision).
- Organize materials and layout/ execution of daily tasks for yourself and co-worker(s), as instructed by your supervisor (low level of supervision).
- Demonstrate a good knowledge in the areas of Motor control, HVAC control, electrical circuit/ system troubleshooting.
- Recognize changes in work scopes and compile direct material lists for the changes.
- Complete and submit Quality Control documentation to supervisor.
